Nylon Cord Fiber

Nylon is a synthetically produced fiber which is very strong but lightweight.  It is durable, provides excellent elasticity, and is resistant to abrasion, most acids and alkalis. Nylon fiber in braided cords and rope is flexible and has the ability to abssord shock load.  It can be stored wet and is resistant to rot as well.

Nylon is used in cord and rope applications including: climbing rope, safety lanyards, mooring lines, tie down rope, sling rope.

Properties of Nylon Cord Fiber:

  • Excellent Strength
  • Good Resistance to acids
  • Chemical Resistant
  • Limited UV Resistance
  • Excellent Abrasion Resistance
  • Melts at 480°F
  • Excellent elasticity
